Wind monitoring
Gust
Live wind monitoring and wind management planning for outdoor events using temporary structures.
Why monitor the wind?
Know when the wind is approaching your limits
Many of the events we work with are held outdoors, so they’re exposed to the weather – especially the wind. Any event using a temporary demountable structure (TDS) is susceptible to the damaging effects of high winds.
Having a contingency plan is only part of the solution. You also need to monitor conditions, and to know quickly and accurately when gusts are approaching the limits of your temporary structures.

How Gust works
Accurate readings, where they matter
Ultrasonic sensor
A state-of-the-art ultrasonic wind detector reports both wind speed and direction every 10 seconds.
10 m telescopic mast
The mast raises the sensor to 10 m above the ground, in line with the Institution of Structural Engineers’ guidance for temporary demountable structures.
Alerts to your control room
Gust lets you or your event control room know when to take action, before gusts reach the design limits of your structures. Email alerts can be sent to as many of your safety team as you need.
Wind management plans
From design limits to a plan that works on the day
Every supplier of a TDS must provide the design limits of the structure, and an action plan for what to do as wind gusts increase. From those details we can create your Wind Management Plan – and meet any additional requirements your insurer may have.
We can produce your plan and supply Gust to monitor on-site conditions at your event, providing you with real-time data on which to make informed decisions.
