Keeping up to date with Industry best practice

Kingsford Events once again attended the Sports Ground Safety Authority 2018 Conference.

With sports grounds of various types now becoming more commonplace to hold events as well as football matches and racing events, it's critical that the live events industry and the sports ground arena work closely to share best practice and work together on upcoming challenges faced in both sectors - usually very similar ones. With the attack at Manchester Arena still clearly in our minds there was of course much conversation about counter terrorism.

A valuable and informative day saw us attending workshops about;

Zone Ex - the part of a visitors journey to the event that ultimately the event organiser and venue have some responsibly to ensure is managed in a safe manner and considered in arrival and egress plans. An important topic that isn't just relevant to a sports ground, but any event venue.

Moving people in exceptional circumstances - What should be considered to understand how people will react to an incident and allow us to plan and manage an incident inside or outside of your event venue.

Behaviour detection and disruption - An insightful presentation by a government security official about how we can counter hostile reconnaissance and detect unusual behaviour to help prevent an incident occurring. A useful session to understand some of the work carried out 'behind the scenes' of the UK intelligence agencies and the resources available to event organisers to mitigate any hostile attacks.

Kingsford Events consider keeping up to date with the industries they work in and best practice an import factor in keeping events dafe, and why we attend such events.
